Dear SHINE community,

We are closely monitoring development and travel restrictions associated with corvid-19. At this time, it is impossible to know what will be the situation in the USA in 4 months, when SHINE is scheduled to take place in Honolulu, HI. In order to make it possible for researchers to plan their trip and for us to organize the student travel, we have decided to make a final decision regarding the workshop by the end of April. This will leave us with ~2.5 months to finalize the workshop and travel arrangements or allow us to cancel with (hopefully) minimal disruption for the summer schedule. We understand that this uncertainty is not ideal, but we are looking for the best for the solar-terrestrial research community. Session organizers may continue to contact potential scene-setting speakers with the understanding that the situation remains fluid and we may eventually decide to cancel the workshop.

Noé Lugaz, SHINE Steering committee chair
Teresa Nieves-Chinchilla, SHINE Workshop coordinator.
