We would like to draw your attention to Fall AGU session SH008 “Fundamental Physics of the Solar Corona and Inner Heliosphere”. Deadline for abstract submission is July 31, 2019.

Session Description:
The inner heliosphere provides a natural laboratory to understand how magnetized plasmas are heated, accelerated and structured over a wide range of time and spatial scales. This session explores the many facets of physical processes involved in the origins of the turbulent, super-Alfvénic wind filling the heliosphere: what are the sources of different wind types and their connection to coronal structures? How do distribution functions evolve? What are the roles of turbulence and wave-particle interactions in heating and acceleration? How is the energization associated with structures, such as shocks, current sheets and magnetic reconnection. This session welcomes theoretical, numerical simulation, and observational papers, including contributions stemming from the initial Parker Solar Probe exploration inside the orbit of Mercury, together with theoretical developments and new challenges inspired by such observations.

Conveners:
Chadi Salem, Marco Velli, Olga Panasenco, & Yannis Zouganelis.
