Subject: Public Forum for Candidates for the Director of Affirmative
Action and Equity



The search committee for the Director of Affirmative Action and Equity
extended the search, and the committee will interview two new candidates
from the extended search process. Please come and meet the two
candidates during the public forum.



The first candidate, Christine Hagen will be on campus on Thursday,

September 15.  A Public Forum will be from 12:15 - 1:15 in MUB 302.

Christine (Chris) Hagen a New Hampshire native attended the University
of New Hampshire and graduated in 1983 with a BS in Physical Education.
She went on to get a Bachelors degree in Business from Franklin Pierce
College and then a Masters Degree in Business Administration from
Southern New Hampshire University.   In 2004 she passed the
certification test to become a Senior Professional in Human Resources
(SPHR).



She has held various Human Resources positions in private industry and
now works in public education.  Her background includes work in the
affirmative action and diversity areas, Title IX and ADA/504
coordination, training, staff development, recruiting, labor relations
and contract negotiations. She is currently the Director of Human
Resources for the Nashua NH School District, (approximately 1800
employees and 13,000 students).   In her spare time she enjoys spending
family time with her husband, Roger and eight year old daughter, Rachel.




The second candidate, Melissa Feldmeier will be on campus on Friday,

September 16.  A Public Forum will be from 12:00 - 1:00 in MUB 302.



Throughout her career, Melissa Feldmeier has been a committed advocate
of diversity and inclusion.  In her current position as Senior Counsel
to Cinergy Corp., a Fortune 500 company in Cincinnati, Ohio, she advises
and trains management on issues of equal employment and affirmative
action.  After conducting an audit of Cinergy's compliance efforts,
Melissa identified and implemented additional preventive actions,
including management training, a company-wide reasonable accommodations
committee, and a comprehensive policy manual.



Melissa also has been the Board President for the past four years of
IKRON, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing vocational
training and other services to individuals with disabilities.  She has
published on a number of diversity-related topics, including religious
freedom in academia and same-sex sexual harassment, and is a frequent
speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars.  In her spare time,
Melissa enjoys reading and traveling.
