Equipment Repositories for Accessibility: A Model for Improving Access in Field Science
MSP LTER graduate student Charlotte Devitz has spent a lot of time thinking about how field stations can be more accessible to people with disabilities. One idea is to create equipment repositories. These repositories lend equipment, such as offroad wheelchairs, to individuals that might need them to get around field sites; the program enables a broad range of people to participate in field work while mitigating financial costs to the individual.
