Good Afternoon!

I am passing along these awesome workshops the LTER is currently providing.
I personally took the Field Futures training (field safety workshops) last
year and thought it was so impactful that I brought their virtual training
to Hubbard Brook this last field season. They are also providing mentorship
training (Entering Mentoring).

Please take advantage of these funded resources; spots are filling up
quickly so make sure to register soon if interested!

Best,
Dayna

Dear Lead PIs, REU Coordinators, DEI Committee, and Grad Committee-

The LTER Network Office and the LTER Network DEI Committee have scheduled a
few opportunities this Spring to build skills in field safety and mentoring
ahead of the Summer and we'd like your help in promoting these
opportunities.

*Learn More and Register for Field Futures Workshops
<https://lternet.edu/stories/lter-fieldfutures-anti-harassment-workshop/>*

   - Tuesday April 23 at 10:30-Noon PT (1:30-3:00 p.m. ET)
   - Tuesday, May 14 at 10:30-Noon PT (1:30-3:00 p.m. ET)

Field Futures <https://www.fieldfutures.org/> is returning to offer two
field safety workshops, centered on ways that observers can
safely intervene when they witness problematic behavior -- whether the
behavior at issue is sexual harassment, bullying, safety-related, or simply
unenlightened or disrespectful.

These workshops are most appropriate for anyone at any career stage going
into the field.
*------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*

*Learn More and Register for Entering Mentoring
<https://lternet.edu/stories/strengthen-mentoring-skills/>*

Workshops dates (both dates are required):

   - Thursday, April 18 at 9:00 a.m.-Noon PT (Noon-3:00 p.m. ET)
   - Thursday, May 2 at 9:00 a.m.-Noon PT (Noon-3:00 p.m. ET)

The *Entering Mentoring <https://cimerproject.org/entering-mentoring/>* program
is an evidence-based mentoring approach specifically tailored to STEMM
researchers. A variety of LTER network volunteers have received
facilitation training so that we can offer our own in-network workshops,
tailored to the LTER context.

Topics for this first offering will include:

   - Maintaining Effective Communication
   - Addressing Equity & Inclusion
   - Assessing Understanding
   - Fostering Independence

Additional topics may be incorporated into future offerings and
participants will also be invited to an ongoing community-of-practice to
continue building skills in inclusive and intentional mentoring.

This activity is most appropriate for anyone who mentors researchers at any
level (undergraduate, graduate, postdoc, early career, or advanced)

Please share these opportunities through your site communication channels
and your personal networks.

Thanks,
Marty Downs, Director, LTER Network Office
&
Molly Phillips, LTER Inclusion and Access Coordinator
