Good Afternoon Everyone,

*CW: (harassment, sexual assault, sexual harassment)*
I am excited to announce that Hubbard Brook will be partnering with
FieldFutures in order to provide a *free virtual FieldFutures Training* for
the community on Tuesday, June 20th at 5:30 pm EST. These 90-minute
workshops teach participants to prevent, intervene in, and effectively
report harassment. While they have been built around sexual harassment,
they are also relevant to other types of discrimination. We are offering
this event to *students and student field crew leaders (field crew leaders
that are students).*

If you are interested in securing a spot, please make sure to RSVP
<https://forms.gle/ADyPe8JcKLeqqbcW8> as soon as possible as spots are
*limited.* If you already signed up for this date during the initial
poll, *your
spot is secured.* If you or someone you are are interested in the training
and are *not* part of the Hubbard Brook community, limited spots are
available for $30.

*About the FieldFutures training:*
The FieldFutures training <https://www.fieldfutures.org/workshop> guides
participants to prevent, intervene in, and effectively report incidents of
sexual harassment and assault in field settings. Through a series of
practical intervention scenarios led by a skilled facilitator, participants
will learn and practice tangible prevention skills via positive
organizational climate-setting.

Grounded in the latest evidence-based research on harassment prevention and
organizational psychology, each session is designed to help participants
build knowledge, competency, and self-efficacy so they can set and enforce
positive norms in fieldwork settings. Originally developed in 2018 with
support from the Thoreau Foundation and CAMINO at UC Santa Cruz, the
FieldFutures workshop draws from our founders’ decades of expertise in
scientific fieldwork and equity programming.

*Please note that this workshop is focused on practical and tangible safety
measures and bystander intervention training; this is not a venue to report
personal experiences with harassment or assault. Please see our website
<https://fieldworkfuture.ucsc.edu/resources.html#content1-19> for resources
for victims and survivors of harassment or assault. *

Please feel free to reach out with any further questions!
