Dear Friends of Hubbard Brook,
We are happy to announce that registration is open for the 2021 Hubbard Brook Annual Cooperators’ Meeting to be held via Zoom on July 7-8, 2021. It is unfortunate that we still cannot meet in person, but we look forward to getting together as a community online.
The Annual Cooperators’ Meeting provides important opportunities for communication, exchange of ideas and research plans, and to form new friendships. This meeting also provides a perspective on the overall Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study. Meeting information and the online registration form are accessible from the Hubbard Brook website<https://hubbardbrook.org/articles/july-7-8-2021-58th-annual-cooperators-meeting>.
We look forward to kicking off the 2021 meeting on Tuesday, July 6th at 5pm with the third annual "Moss Storytelling Hour: Candid stories told by members of the Hubbard Brook Community." This year, the storytelling event—like the rest of the Cooperators Meeting—will be held virtually.
The Cooperators’ Meeting research presentations will be on Wednesday and Thursday, July 7 and 8, 12:30-5 pm. Stay tuned for additional details.
The deadline to register your presentation for the Cooperators Meeting is Tuesday, June 8th. The deadline for registering a presentation is quite firm.
We offer two options for presentations this year:
● 2-minute, 1 slide only, “lightning” talks. These presentations may highlight a research result or contain announcements. Announcements of proposals or new research (no results yet) will only be accepted as lightning talks. These talks are strictly limited to one slide with no clicks or animation to pack in more content.
● 4-minute talks (Questions will be asked during 15-minute discussion blocks): These are for in-progress research with data to report or for completed studies only.
It may be impossible to accommodate all interested speakers because we do not hold concurrent sessions and speaking slots are limited. Thus, submitting a presentation about research conducted at other location(s) and with no clearly stated relationship to the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study is discouraged. Additional presentation guidelines and registration information can be found on the website.<https://hubbardbrook.org/articles/july-7-8-2021-58th-annual-cooperators-meeting>
We ask all speakers to avoid jargon and to provide background for their experiments and observational studies so that presentations are accessible to all attendees, including those that are new to Hubbard Brook.
Please feel free to forward this announcement to others.
We hope to see you online in July!
