Ms. Cleavitt,
     My name is Sarah Abbott. I attend Bates College, and in addition to Chemistry, I have a strong interest in environmental research. I'm a good student (3.93 GPA). I will be a going into my sophomore year this year and will have taken organic chemistry and at least one semester of biology.

     I wondering weather the Hubbard Brook Research Ecosystem Study ever accepts summer interns who study chemistry. I'm inquiring for next summer.

     I was reading a particular piece of literature today in regard to water contamination in my home state of New Jersey when I was reminded of this project. I've been aware of this particular project since my environmental studies teacher in the 11th grade mentioned it.
