[HubbardBrook] Reminder and revised agenda: Hubbard Brook Jan COS meeting

Dear Colleagues,

Please do try to attend the Hubbard Brook COS meeting in January. The RVSP
link is below. So far turnout is low.

Couple of points to entice you to attend if you are on the fence.

1) On Tuesday, Chris Woodall (the new project leader for NRS center the
oversees HBEF) and Tony D'Amato (UVM professor) will present the NRS
initiative on adaptive silviculture for climate change. An overview is
attached
In short the Tuesday agenda provides the chance to meet the new boss of
HBEF and discuss directly with him and the local project lead (D'Amato) the
costs/benefits of a MAJOR NEW FOREST MANIPULATION in Hubbard Brook Valley.

2) On Wednesday, we have partnered with the AAAS and HBRF to provide a
great professional development opportunity. This workshop differs from the
previous public engagement workshop (October 2014) in that it is explicitly
designed to help us build communication skills beyond the classroom and the
academic conference. Among the topics included are strategies for an
effective a social media presence, honing interview skills, and designing
your message for the public.
