The machine (at least the head node) appeared to be having problems
yesterday.  Someone rebooted it and the issues seemed to go away
then... but maybe they are back now.
Sorry, I don't know any details.

The website is not actually served off of the cluster but from another
machine a floor below it.

Hopefully someone else has a better explanation as to the problem...
