GLOBAL PLASMA MONTH

13 CITIES…1 HOT TOPIC

The inaugural Global Plasma Month organized by the Young APS-DPP Community
in collaboration with Nerd Nite is set to take place this February and
March. At cities all over the world, young plasma physicists will be giving
talks on plasma topics aimed at the general audience level. These talks are
facilitated by Nerd Nite, a group that organizes science café-talks where
people can gather at bars and restaurants to eat, drink, and learn science
in a fun, informal setting. The talks will span a wide range of plasma
topics from the mysteries of the heliosphere, to the quest for fusion
energy, to the role that plasmas play in our everyday lives. The goal is to
make people aware of the importance of plasma research and get them excited
about future possibilities.



Scheduled talks include Honolulu Feb 3rd, London Feb 11th, Atlanta Feb
26th, New York Feb 27th and Philadelphia March 4th. Events are also in the
works for Ann Arbor, Berlin, Boston, Brighton, Chicago, Madison, Munich and
