Welcome to the March issue of Hot Topics.  This email is designed to let
you know some of the major topics of discussion in the monthly PAT
Council meetings.  Questions, concerns and issues can be addressed to

1.         The newest issue of the PAT Council newsletter, The Commons,
is now available online.  In an effort to help conserve resources, the
PAT Council has decided to discontinue printing hard copies of The
Commons.  Instead, issues will be posted on the PAT Council website.
The current issue contains several "Hot Topics", so please take a moment
to read through it.  It can be accessed at

2.         The UNH Professional, Administrative and Technical (PAT)
Staff Council and the President's Office invite you to attend a FREE
breakfast featuring Dr. Aaron Margolin, UNH Professor of Microbiology
and Chair of the UNH Institutional Biological Safety Committee. The
title of this professional development seminar is, "How Not to Get Sick
at Work!" It will take place on April 7, 2005 at 7:30 AM in Acorns (at
the New England Center). The seminar is limited to the first 50 people
who sign up. A Continental Breakfast with coffee is served at 7:30 AM.
Presentations begin promptly at 8:00 AM and end at 9:00 AM with a
