Hi folks,

Just a heads up to let you know that there will be 3 eclipses coming up in May.

May 4: 19:45 - 20:53 UTC
May 13: 21:33 - 23:29 UTC
May 23: 03:26 - 05:13 UTC

The following operational strategy has been adopted for each of the eclipses:

1) Spacecraft in Housekeeping State and Payload in HVSTANDBY before eclipse start
2) LE flag set to TRUE 1.5 hours before eclipse start
3) LE flag set to FALSE when predicted cell voltages reach 3.8V (or at eclipse end if already predicted to be above 3.8V)
4) Ascending bus commands delayed from 14 Re until immediately after LE flag set to false
5) Ascending payload commands delayed from 15 Re until 2 hours after LE flag set to FALSE

I've attached the cell voltage plots along with a timeline of planned eclipse operations.

So the payload will be in HVSTANDBY until 2 hours after the LE flag is set to FALSE i.e.:

May 4: 22:53 UTC, ~15.5 Re asc, orbit 205
May 14: 03:18 UTC, ~18.75 Re asc., orbit 206
May 23: 08:15 UTC, ~19.75 Re asc., orbit 207

Nigel

p.s. for your info:
Minimum duration for a moderate eclipse is 35 minutes
Minimum duration for a long eclipse is 2 hours.
