I like it! I made it a little more compact. How's this?

In addition to people, ice storms impact:

a)      Flora and fauna;

b)      Water;

c)       Greenhouse gases;

d)      All of the above.

Laurie, I have not ever done something like this before. You would probably want something straightforward like:

When ice storms occur they impact:

a)      People;

b)      Trees;

c)       Birds;

d)      Water;

e)      Greenhouse gases;

f)       All of the above.
Cheers,
Charley

Hi folks,

If you're interested, I could post a Twitter Poll the day before the release of Ice Storms to engage viewers beforehand. It should be a question related to the research topic and it can be either a "true or false" or "multiple choice" question. NSF Twitter followers will have 24 hours to answer it and we typically get several hundred responses.

Let me know your thoughts and if you have any ideas for the question.

Hi All,

Our "Ice Storms<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlZVCQSkiAE&feature=youtu.be>" (please do not share link) Science Nation video will be released on Tuesday, Dec. 13th and I will loop you in on the outreach. Below are the proposed title, tease and very brief description. Please let me know by COB Monday, Dec. 5th if you have any edits, questions and/or concerns. I'm happy to add information and/or links and to re-work anything for you.

(Working) Show Title: Scientists create ice storms to study nature's chilly response

(Working) Show Tease: Novel experiment at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest to quantify cost of ice storms on forest ecosystems

(Working) Description: Anyone who's ever driven in freezing rain knows all too well the potential hazards of an ice storm. These powerful winter weather events are also capable of catastrophic ecological and socio-economic impacts on forest ecosystems, affecting forest species and productivity, and even increasing the risk of fire. Syracuse University bio-geochemist Charley Driscoll and USDA Forest Service ecologist Lindsey Rustad are part of a team supported by that National Science Foundation to scientifically monitor more precisely how a forest ecosystem responds to and recovers from ice storms. And, the researchers are not waiting on Mother Nature to provide the right weather. They're creating their own ice storms in New Hampshire's Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest<http://www.hubbardbrook.org/>.
