Dear Associates:
The committee was formed two years ago and has made progress on:
-
Developing a code of conduct
-
Developing a pilot complaints procedure
-
Securing partial funding for a Community Relations Staffer to be on-site during the summer and support the DEI committee year-round
-
Providing by-stander intervention training
Our priorities for the coming year include:
-
Moving forward with the Complaints Procedure
-
Developing resources for more inclusive recruiting for summer positions
-
Refining the Community Relations Staffer goals and priorities
-
Assessing the priorities of the community—via surveys and other means
We hope to have representation on the DEI committee from a diverse group including from different career stages.
We would like to have two undergrad members and hope that the grad student co-chairs are able to participate. In the past, we have had a number of graduate student participants
and hope that will continue.
We are planning to revisit the meeting time to try to accommodate the most people.
We are currently meeting on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 3-4 pm ET.
Please let me know if you are interested in joining us.
Thanks,
Linda
