Hi John,

I just listened to your message; sorry about the delay. Then I had a moment of panic about the HB P monograph, which I agreed to lead years ago and never succeeded at producing.

But this is the topic raised by the mid-term reviewers, that the P limitation observed in the MELNHE treatments raised questions, or seemed interesting?

Let me know what suggestions you have for making this topic broadly relevant to the HB COS. I can reach out to Tim and Melany but I wouldn’t want the whole program to be about MELNHE results (of which we have plenty) even though it would help us a lot (we don’t always know what the others have found and should be better about communicating amongst ourselves).

John Campbell said there was a stream spike in P that nobody has thought about. That would interest a different group of folks.

Mark Green argues that understanding stream export of P is important, though we are generally below detection. He and I are planning some work in Japan on this topic in spring 2021.

So October is better for me than April, I’ll likely be in Japan in April 2021! What’s on for April 2020?

x Ruth
