Good Morning!

The Hubbard Brook Research Foundation has two REU positions that we administer with funding through the LTER award (Research Experiences for Undergraduates). The REU program includes a $5,500 stipend, free housing at HBRF, and allowances of $410 each for equipment and for travel.

The students must pay their own living costs (food, clothing, etc.) but if they need specialized field clothing like heavy-duty boots, gloves, etc., it can be covered by the equipment allowance (students will purchase and will be reimbursed). The travel allowance can be used for transportation from their home to and from HBRF as well as travel required by their position. It cannot be used for recreational or personal travel.

If interested in being considered as a mentor for an REU position, please complete this questionnaire by next Wednesday, January 24th. Anthea Lavallee, Linda Pardo and myself will review PI/crew leader applications. The Hubbard Brook Research Experience for Undergraduates Expectation for Mentors document is attached below. Feel free to send along any questions. Thank you!
