Dear colleagues,

Please spread the word – and apologies for cross-posting!

In collaboration with The Nature of Cities, the Urban Field Station has opened a call for the 2024 cohort of resident artists at the Urban Field Station Collaborative Arts Program. This time they are calling

— 4 artists on the theme of climate justice (2 in New York City and 2 at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest in New Hampshire)

— 4 artists focused on sound (in any combination of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Boston, and Detroit)

— 1 artist in Baltimore with a theme of forest patches.

Calls for these 9 are open now.  They will also be adding one artist in Philadelphia and two artists in Europe (cities are TBD).

The cohort will also have artists in Hawaii, the Dominican Republic, and Springfield MA.  So, they anticipate 14 artists in the 2024 cohort!

You can find the calls here: https://ufsarts.com/

Sincere thanks to The Nature of Cities, Northern Research Station, Northeast Climate Hub, Urban Connections, International Institute of Tropical Forestry, State of Hawaii, and other state and local partners for their support of this year’s cohort.

Contact David Maddox (cc’d) if you have questions about applying.

My best,

Lindsey Rustad
