The successful candidate is expected to develop an externally funded graduate research program in their area of expertise. The Department offers B.S. and Ph.D. degrees, with specializations in environmental chemistry, biochemistry, natural products chemistry, and polymer chemistry. The department currently has 14 faculty members (plus 2 coming this Fall) and enrolls about 60 undergraduate students and 35 graduate students.

Major equipment includes a suite of Orbitrap and triple-quad GC- and LC-MS instruments, 600 and 800 MHz NMRs, and scanning and transmission electron microscopes.
