Dear Hubbard Brook colleagues:

The LTER All Scientists Meeting will be held in Monterey, CA, Oct. 1-4, 2018.

 https://lternet.edu/lter-scientists-meeting-2018/

The LTER network office is soliciting proposals for workshops for the meeting.  See details below.   Anyone, including investigators, post-docs and grad students, can submit a workshop proposal.  I encourage you to consider this.  Please let me know if you submit a proposal.

Also, the network office will fund the travel costs for 7 people per site.  If you or one of your students or post-docs would like to attend this meeting and needs travel funding, please let me know by May 1.   If there are more applicants than slots available, we will select 7 using the criteria below.

This is always a fun meeting and we encourage as many people from HB as possible to attend.

Thanks!

Gary

Subject: [LTER-site-exec] LTER All Scientists' Meeting - accepting submissions for workshops and posters

Dear LTER site leadership teams--

Information on the LTER All Scientists Meeting has been posted on the Network website, here:

https://lternet.edu/lter-scientists-meeting-2018/

We are accepting workshop and poster proposals for 90-minute and 180-minute workshop slots. Please encourage investigators, postdocs and graduate students at your site to develop and submit workshop proposals--especially those that require or would benefit from cross-site collaboration.

This year, the Network Communications Office will be able to fund attendance (travel, lodging, and registration) for 7 individuals per site (~200) and we can accommodate more than 500 people total.

In mid-May, I will be reaching out to site PIs asking them to identify the individuals your site would like to cover. Suggested criteria include:

  • Those without independent sources of funding--early career investigators (including graduate students), information managers, education and outreach managers.
  • Investigators or partners from under-represented groups
  • Those most likely to take advantage of, and benefit from, the opportunity to network and contribute to LTER Network science. (Submitting a workshop proposal might offer some evidence of engagement.)

Once we know who from each site will be covered, we will open up registration for all.

Thanks,

Marty
