Good morning, Hubbard Brook!

The USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station (NRS) will be convening
a virtual meeting on Sept. 17, 10:00 - 12:30, for people who partner with
the Experimental Forests in New Hampshire and Maine (details below).

*Forest Service funding at these sites has been declining and is now
critically low.  This is your opportunity to speak to the value of the
Experimental Forests and what you stand to lose, if adequate funding and
staffing aren't restored.  For example, at Hubbard Brook, essential Forest
Service science positions are vacant and have not been filled after the
people who held them retired or moved on.*

I hope you'll consider participating in this important discussion about
Hubbard Brook and our neighboring Experimental Forests.

The USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station (NRS) is hosting a
virtual partner engagement session to discuss ongoing and future research
at the Penobscot, Massabesic, Bartlett, and Hubbard Brook Experimental
Forests. This opportunity is for anyone who was unable to attend the
in-person engagement at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest in June. During
this virtual session we will share the latest research happening at these
Experimental Forests and listen to your science needs and partnership
opportunities. Our goal is to align NRS scientific expertise with the needs
of local partners while collectively identifying current and emerging
natural resource issues that merit research attention in the next five
years. We hope you will join us.
