Science Meeting

Dear LTER Site Executive Teams,

Please circulate the announcement below to individuals at your sites who
may be interested. I have already contacted people who we know are
conducting workshops and giving presentations or posters. If you have strong
feelings about someone at your site who would be especially well-suited for
this opportunity, please encourage them to submit a request and let me know
that you have done so.

Thanks, Marty

We are delighted to announce that the LTER Network Communications Office
has determined that we can allocate a modest level of support for US
participation in the September meeting in Leipzig, Germany.

We plan to provide up to $2,000 per person for up to 30 participants,
prioritized in the following way:

· First priority will be LTER scientists with accepted workshop proposals.

· Second priority will be LTER scientists with accepted abstracts for
papers and posters.

· After that, we will aim to allocate fairly among sites, with preference
for early career applicants, demonstrated interest in building
international collaborations, and an eye towards diverse perspectives.

We would like to make this funding go as far as possible, so encourage
those who have other sources of funding to use them. If you are confident
you will go, please register early and save 50 Euros (250 v. 300 Euro
registration cost).

Please use the form at this link:
<https://lternet.edu/2019-ilter-open-science-meeting/>

to request NCO funding *no later than June 7*. Applicants will be notified
of decisions by *June 15. *

Thanks,

Marty
