Greetings from HBRF,

All HB researchers, staff, students, and trustees are welcome to join us
for a science briefing with U.S. Congresswoman Ann Kuster (NH-02) next
Wednesday, August 21, from 9:30 - 11:00 at Pierce Lab.  Join us for snacks
and an opportunity to chat before the briefing.

9:30 - 9:40  Ann Kuster and staff arrive, coffee/snacks, mingle with larger
group of staff, students, researchers, trustees outside the conference room
9:40 - 10:30  Short presentations around the table in the conference room
(staff, students, trustees, and other researchers are welcome to join the
audience)
     - Lindsey Rustad:  Hubbard Brook overview, history, role of the Forest
Service, news
     - Steve Hamburg:  Impacts and significance of HB science
     - Geoff Wilson:  Climate change and the science of snow-making
     - Gary Lovett:  Invasive pests and forest health
     - Tristan Keller (summer intern):  Field training opportunities at
Hubbard Brook for NH youth
10:30 - 11:00  Tours of CCASE and Droughtnet guided by Pam Templer and
Lindsey Rustad
11:00  Group photo in front of Pierce Lab

Later in the day, John Campbell and Sarah Garlick will be representing HB
at a round table that Congresswoman Kuster is convening on climate change
and the timber industry and outdoor recreation.  All are welcome to join
the audience during this event at the state complex just north of Lancaster
at 629 Main St, #A, Lancaster, NH 03584 at 2:45.
