Hello All,
I Just wanted to remind everyone to be drive safely in the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest and Mirror Lake Road. We have a few more rocks that have popped up on the road between weirs 5 and 6 and after Rain gage 23. All of our roads are classified as high clearance vehicle roads so caution needs to be used when a prius is used.
Remember the speed Limit is 30 on Mirror Lake Road and 25 on Hubbard Brook road. This is the Max limit. It is ok and preferred to drive slower.
We have already seen researchers heading up the Hubbard Brook Road unrestrained in the back of a Pickup. This is not an accepted practice in out forest and I would hate to see someone injured.
In other news Natalie Cleavitt has discovered what may be Hemlock Woolly Adelgid in the Hubbard Brook Valley. We will be having it evaluated by and expert this week. This will be the most northern infection of HWA if it is confirmed.
That's all for now. Be Safe. Ian
