Dear ISErs,

Mary Martin (with coordinates provided by Wendy) created the attached map to show how the ISE plots…skirt one Valley Wide Plot, and are in the area of plots that were spruce cut in the 1970’s.  We will keep our eyes out for evidence of the stumps, but it looks like those areas are to the south and east of our plots (shown as simple dots on a map).  Thanks to Mary for making sure we are clear of past work, and this shows the need for GPS coordinates for all the past,  present and future work out there!

Again, I feel like an officiator at a wedding, but if anyone has any worries or issues with the locations of these plots, please speak up now.  They will be official as of tomorrow 5:00 pm1!!!

Lindsey

Wow, fabulous work! It's a relief that you were able to site the plots. Do any of them overlap with valley wide plots? If so, I should talk this over with John Battles - I'm not too worried about it.

Wendy,
Thanks for the plot corner shapefile. I've plotted that with the shapefile of other study locations. The plots
miss the one valleywide plot in the area. Plot 1 comes within 6m of a point that I have
described as '40 spruce fir wound/harvest 1978-1991 (Wally Shortle). Since that work is represented by just a point
in the GIS system, I'm not sure of the spatial extent of that work. It seems likely that you might
overlap there. maybe this isn't an issue?

note - I'm not emailing this to entire list. forward along for discussion if you want.
