Lindsey Rustad-

Hello! My name is Heather Upin and I am a senior geology major at Smith College. As I am finishing my last semester, I am looking towards the future. I talked to Charlie Driscoll in October when I visited Syracuse University for graduate school and since became very interested in working at Hubbard Brook as a research assistant/technician. Do you have any open positions for the summer or starting in the fall? Any information you can provide would be much appreciated.

Currently I am working on a senior thesis about a field project I completed this past summer which explored the chemistry of sediment in two volcanic lakes in Oregon. I am using data I collected in Oregon to relate these sediments to a prehistoric catastrophic flood. Previously I have worked on a study about soil Hg and DOC; specifically how DOC and UV254 can be used as a proxy for predicting Hg.

Attached is my CV and resume. Thank you!

Best,

Heather
