Here is a set of edits I started a while back, based on Scott's version.

I was curious how my comments might overlap with Ruth's, but I was also unable to open her file.

My edits are relatively minor, and relate mainly to CO2/H2O fluxes, phenology and uncertainty - I agree with Dick, it is looking great. (Though, some of the figures could be higher resolution! But at this stage, good to keep the file size down I guess)
Have a good weekend-

Hi Gary,

Here are a few comments on the proposal draft.  These are mostly on the heterotroph sections, and include some references and some updating of details.  I recently sent Matt Ayres some updated figures on long-term bird trends and distribution maps of selected bird species in the large HB valley.  I’m assuming he has or will send these to you.  If not, let me know.

Also, the bookthat Gene and I put together is now at the printers, and should be available by May.  So it is reasonable to list it as 2016. See my edits on the top of page 6.

Overall, the proposal looks great.  A lot of good research is goiing on.

Best,

Dick

Dear Hubbard Brook  colleagues:

If you make comments on the LTER proposal, please start with the V.2  version that Tim edited  (attached).  Add your comments in Track Changes and add your name or initials to the file name.  When you return it to me, copy the COS list-serve.  You can add your comments to versions that others have marked up before you, in groups of 4 or 5 people per version. If there are already 4 or 5 people on a version, please start a new one, using V.2. as a base.  If we get 30 sets of comments on one version it will be too hard to read.

I need your comments by February 12.

Thanks!

Gary

Gary,

I spent a day editing the version you sent around – see attached. Seems like it would be most efficient not to have everybody working at cross purposes on the same version. I’ve called this one v. 2. Should others build upon it? Also, I’m copying below the conceptual model behind the NxP fertilization study for possible inclusion. This is from work by Ruth, Melany and I.

Dear Hubbard Brook COS colleagues:

I have attached the latest draft of the LTER proposal for your review and comment.  I will need your comments back by Friday, February 12 in order to have time to consider and incorporate them. If you have time to read the whole thing, great!  If not, please review the sections that are most relevant to your work, and scan the marginal comments for any places you may be able to contribute.

The proposal is currently over the allowed length so any suggestions for shortening it will be appreciated.

Starting next week I will be contacting those of you who will be co-PIs on the proposal about budgets and paperwork that you will need to provide.

Thanks!

Gary
